May­tag has always been a pop­u­lar brand, and is very famous for its por­trayal of “The May­tag Man”, a bored repair­man who had noth­ing to repair. This mas­cot embod­ied the idea that May­tag machines were built to such a high stan­dard, that repairs were few and far in between. In 2005, Whirlpool Cor­po­ra­tion bought May­tag and con­tin­ued to per­pet­u­ate the longevity and high stan­dards of the brand, and also keep­ing the brand in the USA.
