Gen­eral Elec­tric has served the appli­ance busi­ness for over a cen­tury. Thomas Alva Edi­son brought many of his com­pa­nies together to form Edi­son Gen­eral Elec­tric in 1890. In 1892 Edi­son merged with another elec­tri­cal com­pany, Thomson-Houston Elec­tric Com­pany, and formed Gen­eral Electric. GE has been a lead­ing inno­va­tor in appli­ances, mak­ing many trouble-free prod­ucts. Many GE prod­ucts are built with sim­plic­ity and qual­ity in mind, and has been one of our longest-standing brands.
